Belly Button

I have an red rash around the outside of my belly button I have had it about two or three days now  It hurts when I put pants on it rubs around the red spot i have on the outside of mine belly button  I have put  cornstarch on it and antibacterial ointment on it too  What could it be

I had something like that before but it was because i am allergic to fake jewelry, and metals. The rubbing of belt on my stomach area caused it. Maybe you are allergic to metals too.

Hi,

You should remove any rings or objects from the belly button immediately. Keep the area clean. Wear lose clothes , so as not to cause friction or pressure at the site of the lesion.

Apply calamine lotion and keep the area well moisturised.

If the lesion does not heal in a couple of days, it would be best to consult your doctor and ask him/her if any antibiotics and antihistamine medications need to be taken.
