Biaxin allergy or bad side effect???

by tmv, Mar 23, 2007 12:00AM
Hi there and thank you for reading this. My husband was taking biaxin for a sinus infection and on the third day, he had (pardon the tmi) bright yellow bile gushing out of his rectum. Along with this he had stomach cramps and dizzy/weakness. Is this considered an allergy to biaxin or just a really bad reaction.  I'm pretty sure his condition would be a drug induced gastroenteritis and he definitely will not take it again, but what about the other drugs in the same category of mycins??? Thanks a bunch in advance for your response.

It could be an overdose.  My husband's doctor accidentally prescribed Biaxin wrongly.  I recognized it because I regularly take it for sinus infections.  Generally, I take one pill twice a day.  Did you call the pharmicist?
