Big and small Blisters that are painful, appear all over my hands and scab up.

Why do blisters of all sizes appear all over my hands and its painful, and hard to do my work. They don't seem so want to disappear.  'thanks.

Hi, welcome to the forum, your symptoms are suggestive of shingles. It is caused by varicella-zoster virus. It is characterized by pain, burning, tickling, tingling, and numbness occurs in the area around the affected nerves several days or weeks before a rash appears. The discomfort usually occurs on the chest or back but can involve any area and blisters are restricted to single area.

Later, a band or small area of rash appears then blisters will form. Fluid inside the blister is clear at first but may become cloudy after 3 to 4 days. Pain is piercing type. Blisters opens, oozes and get healed in 2-3 weeks.

This condition needs treatment in the form of anti-viral like acyclovir/valcyclovir against prescription. This promote more rapid healing of skin lesions, decrease viral shedding and lessens the severity and duration of pain associated with acute neuritis.
