Blood when I cough

by eherrle, May 16, 2007 12:00AM
I feel fine.  I have had a bad sinus problem and have had to blow my nose constantly.  The doctor gave me (excuse the spelling) flow-naze.  It didn't work.  Tonight I noticed blood when I coughed.  Although I feel fine, I'm worried.  Any ideas what it could be?

The information your provided is not enough to say what may be wrong. It could be many things. Not to get you worried but I would go see a doctor as soon as possible to run some blood tests. Also, I may be wrong but doctors do not monitor this forum so you may not get the answer you expect. This is more of a support group forum. Good luck.

was is a lot or a little?
((smaller then a dime?))
the flonase could have dried out your sinus and
caused a blood vessle to rupture and it drained
down your throat - you coughed and saw the blood

((that would be a good case scenario))

I would call your physician...best of luck!

For what it's worth, I had an unpleasant result with Flonase.  It seemed to overly dry out my throat, and the lining of my nasal passages seemed irritated and tender.  I also experienced sharp pains on both sides of my head when moving my eyes, as if the irritation reached far into the sinus'.  If you are lucky enough to have insurance and a family doctor, I would consult with them.  Head/vision issues are scary, so be persistent.  Good Luck!

My son got nosebleeds on Flonase.  I think it does dry things out and make it more likely that you'd have a little bleeding.
