Breathless

Hi can anyone help?  I was diagnosed with asthma about half a year ago, started getting symptoms 8 or 9 months ago, breathlessness, chest tightness, tiny bit of wheezing etc. Doctors gave me an inhaler, Ventolin, then gave me a steroid inhaler later. The probable cause for my asthma is anxiety - I have anxiety problems and have trouble relaxing/ irrationally get anxious. Have had anxiety symptoms before - palpitations, frequent urination, shaking, occasional panic attacks, think it eventually took its toll on me and affecting my airways, resulting in asthma. It doesn't seem too serious, but I get breathless easily, which scares me. Sometimes when exercising, I'm fine, but haven't been exercising recently, and mild exertion has made me feel breathless for some time afterwards. Use my blue inhaler but it never seems to do much. Any advice for what I should do?  Would more exercise help or just make me more breathless?

Hi benDB9!
Checkout Yamoa powder. A natural powder from a rare gum tree in Africa used as an alternative Asthma remedy.
Don't exercise vigorously!  Try simpler activities such as walking, hiking, snow -shoeing (in Northern States or Canada) Your immune system is under performing when you use the steroid inhaler. Lactic acid production from exercise may just add to your issues.
Re-connect with nature, meditate and seek an Energy Psychotherapist in your area.
It is one of the more effective and fast therapies.

Here's an easy recipe for anything you want! Just put your greatest  attention and intention into it!.

"I'm willing to do
whatever it takes,
no matter what,
to make myself
better and better.
Everyday and Everyway".

Repeat 108 consecutive times daily!  Minimum 21 days. Optimum 40 days. And mean it each time!

To remove obstacles repeat the following Mantra also 108 consecutive times daily. Same as above.
"Om, gom, gunna patayei Namaha"     It is in Sanskrit. If interested in more Mantras
check Deva Premal's - "Mantras for precarious times".

If something happens and you miss a day, it's your Ego interfering with your Spirit.
You must start from the beginning again.

Hi, welcome to the forum. There are many reasons for congestion in chest. If you are having difficulty in breathing and congestion then it is asthma. You have been diagnosed with asthma.

Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the airway and mainly arises from allergies. Some of the common characteristics or symptoms of asthma are recurrent breathing problems, breathlessness, wheezing, chest tightness, coughing etc. Some other causes for congestion are inflammation, heart disorders, pleurisy etc.
You need to undergo endoscopy and ECG if you are having discomfort. Avoid fried processed food, curd, heavy milk products as they increase mucus secretion, drink warm water, avoid over eating, guava, papaya, banana, steam inhalation etc. You can take antibiotic if infection and continue with inhaler.

Regular exercise will help you as Exercise helps to stretch the lungs and bronchial tubes, which in turn may help reduce the resistance to breathing. Also relaxation methods stress management techniques, pranayam will help you. Reduce weight if overweight.

I suggest you to consult physician for further evaluation. Take care and regards.

Thank you for your help. I am 17, of normal to slightly underweight, and rarely have coughing problems or much wheezing - my real problem seems to be breathlessness, but a feeling of breathlessness, not actually struggling to breathe. Also, my blue inhaler never seems to relieve my discomfort much - I usually have to wait  until it stops. But relaxation methods seem to be helping me, and I never had asthmatic symptoms until I started becoming a very anxious person about 2 years ago, so i think anxiety must be the cause nails, I have been taking Amytriptiline to control my anxiety. I had a lung function test at my GPs and tests came back as normal.
