Burning sensation

AM 23 years  old. Recently  2 months  back ( JAN  30  2011 )  I suffered with  TYPHOID fever . Symptoms during the typhoid  are  fever, headache   and   slight  itching sensation ( without rashes )  on my body at  some parts.... I donno  why  i feel this  itchiness at tat tym.  sometimes I feel   some ants  are  crawling on my body  during this tym..

Later  on  12th  feb  2011 , I went to hospital for  typhoid  treatment ..They tested me for  WIDAL TEST  and it is possitive . Later  by using the tablets  given by doctor I went into normal....But  now   frm  MARCH  24th  onwards  am feeling  some burning sensation in my armpits  and  on  my  left  hand  palm. Ofcourse   burning sensation under armpits  is  resulting for some hours and again into normal for some hours....But  I am worried about the burning sensation on my left palm ..When I went outside in hot  day  time  I may feel some itchy on my hands  which were uncovered  by shirt. Now   am having a cold  also ( running nose )  and  very often I sneezes continously....

Some says  that  am  having   peanut allergy  because  every day I used to eat  groundnuts, grams, almonds . And some says it  is  due  to  allergic  disease  called  hives . And  some says  that  this burning sensation is due to  TYPHOID  medicines which are antibiotics.

Actually   my  body  is  a  overheat  body , from my childhood days onwards I am suffering with overheat in my body which results in mouth ulcers. Very frequent I face this situation and in my family  my  mom  is  having  this  health disorder  , doctor said that  overheat  is  due to  heriditary.

Can  anyone  guide  me  about  my  situation...??....I  changed my locaion to some hot place  from then am feeling  this burning sensation....

Please ,  answer  my  queries  and  hope  a  possitive  reply  from you ppl...

Thanks  and  Regards..

Hi,

1. Burning sensations after typhoid infection is not likely due to typhoid nor it is due to HIV.
2. As such these symptoms are not alarming nor needs emergency management.
3.  HIV is unlikely, but you can confirm it by getting tested by HIV-ELIZA. You need to relax both physical  as well as mental. Your body will recover eventually.

Take care and regards.

Hi dr im 26years old and its been 5years now when i was diagnosed to have typhoid fever. My situation is a bit complex since i fell from height and landed on my head when i was young. My mother immediately took me then to the hospital where i was operated on.It appears that life was normal till when i had typhoid.I went from hospital to hospital looking for solution to my problem and at each hospital they did several test but could not find what was wrong with me although i was having attacks and hearing voices in my head. Finally i went to a psychiatrist who finally diagnosed it to be typhoid.i have been put on antibiotics and some other brain drugs. At first i was still having attacks anytime i dont take these drugs for sometime. But lately i have also been taking some multivitamin to boost my immune system to see if my body will overcome this illness. Also i drink alcohol once awhile but it is not a habit. The last time i drank i couldn't sleep. I was feeling itchy and a burning sensation throughout my body. From my legs ,arms,face,mouth....just everywhere.Dr please i dont know where actually these body itches and burning sensation is originating from. Please can you tell me the cause of this problem and your advice on how to go about it and also for my general wellbeing.

Hi, welcome to the forum, your resting basal metabolic rate seems to be high. There are some causes which should be ruled out, they are anxiety neurosis, Lymphoma, Infections like Brucellosis, Pheochromocytoma, Carcinoid syndrome and Hyperthyroidism.

Even dietary deficiency of vitamin B12 can also cause burning sensations. It is a type of neuropathy. The other possibilities are diabetes, alcoholism, mal absorption syndrome etc. This can be prevented by taking meat liver which is a rich source.

You need to get evaluated for complete blood tests like ESR, differential count, blood counts etc. (serological and biochemical investigation), Upper GI endoscopy, 24 hrs gastric pH, thyroid profile and radio imaging abdomen etc.

I suggest you to consult physician. Take care and regards.
