Can a new allergy symptom just "pop up"?

Hi guys!

I have a quick question.  About a year ago my Doctor told me I have allergies, which were the cause of some sinus issues I was having.  I have been taking Omnaris Nasal Allergy spray since then and have had no further problems....until last Friday.  My throat and tongue kind of feel like they are swollen, although I'm not sure that they really are.  My throat also feels really dry (no matter how much water I drink, but it does help to chew gum), and it is a little difficult to swallow.  My question is, I know that right now in Northern Indiana where I live, we are in the middle of one of the worst allergy seasons in a long long time, so I'm wondering if these throat issues are just another symptom of allergies (I did take an Alevert last night and about an hour after taking it my throat felt about 98% better).  I of course tried calling my Doctor and got nowhere (I am in the process of switching family Doctors because this office has just went downhill as of the last year or two), and the secretary called me back and said that the Doctor said, "No he doesnt think that a dry throat is an allergy to Omnaris"....okaaaaay, that was SO not the question I was asking (even though dry/sore throat IS a side effect of Omnaris!!), so I explained to her that I wasnt asking if dry throat was a symptom of an allergy TO Omnaris, I was asking if dry throat could be a symptom of the allergies the Doctor already told me I had...and she hung up on me!!  SO RUDE!  .  Sooooooo, can anyone confirm that this is probably releated to the allergies I was already diagnosed with?  Thanks in advance!!!   Oh, and please wish me luck trying to find a new family Doctor!!  The secretary at the office I am with now is just SO RUDE!
