Can't Breathe with Asthma, Allergies, Please help!!

I can't breathe sometimes even on inhalers.  I had a respiratory allergy panel come out positive for some Class III allergies like dust mites (I have really old carpet in my home):
Dermatophagoides farinae 9.26 (0-0.35)
Dermatophagoides pteronissinus 6.0 (0-0.35)
Is this causing my asthma?  Is it enough to scrub the carpet with ajax or do I have to use those salts to kill the mites or a steam vaccum?
Thanks so much!

Hi,
How are you? Are there other symptoms present? Indeed, allergies may present with runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, coughing, itchy eyes, difficulty breathing, or an exacerbation of existing asthma. You may need to remove or avoid the source to prevent recurrence of attacks. If it  persists ,it is best that you have this checked by your doctor or be referred to an allergy specialist. Antihistamine medications may also be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.
