Child with allergies what is a severe reaction to environmental allergies?

My daughter is 8 years old been skin tested for environmental and food allergies. She's tested environmental 18- different 4+ and foods being peanuts, cucumber, cantaloupe and bean allergies.

Her symptoms are hives, stomach ache (sometime vomits), chest pains (not difficulties in breathing), headache and severe fatigue. We have been at the zoo, disneyland chuck e cheese and had to leave early due to her stomach ache, chest then fatigue.

We started on shots 3 days a week 3 shots a time. She's on a nightly dose of meds and a a nasal spray. Any tricks I could do to help her have a better quality of life? Kills me to see her through theses stages. it seems to happen more often. Could this be the shots? (only a month into them)

What is considered a severe reaction to an enviromental allergy? does it have to be breathing related? Food is the easy one we can just not have them. But I believe the environmental is the problem at this point.

Thank you

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Truly understand your concern. On exposure to the allergen, an Immunologic (IgE) or a non-immunologic reaction is set in process, which ultimately releases histamine, which acts at the peripheral receptors, resulting in allergic reactions. This can range from common hay fever to hives to asthma or anaphylactic reactions. Of these the anaphylactic reactions are the most severe forms and the symptoms can include breathlessness with stridor and with dropping of blood pressure resulting in loss of consciousness. It is a medical emergency and needs to be tackled immediately. Epipen is used in such situations.

Try to avoid all the known allergens. It may help to maintain a food dairy and keep monitoring her symptoms. This will help to narrow the search and avoid them. Environmental triggers or seasonal or diurnal variations triggers may be difficult to avoid. But being aware can help to avoid the same. Try to maintain an allergen-free environment. Substitute all synthetic and cool materials with cotton ones. Remove all dust-collecting household articles like carpets, bedspreads etc. Just keep monitoring for other sources of allergens and keep up with the therapy.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
