Chocolate

Can a person be allergic to chocolate.  Are there any scientific studies supporting chocolate allergy?

Any food can cause an allergy, but there is a difference between an allergy and sensitivity. A sensitivity it will make you feel bad, gastric upset and that type of thing. For example people who can't tolerate lactose have a sensitivity not an allergy. Allergy means your throat is closing, or you get hives. It is an immune response. My sis for example can have any citrus fruit or her throat starts to close - allergy. My father in law gets gastric ills from eating onions or garlic - sensitivity.
