Chronic Sinus Infections

Chronic Sinus Infections

I have had recurrent sinus infections for about 4 years now. I had sinus surgery about 3 years ago, but it didn't help for long. I probably get about one a month and I have sinus headaches pretty often. I've been bounced around to many doctors and my most recent ENT doctor told me to consider that it might not even be sinuses after all. I need a doctor to help me figure out what's causing my sinus infections and how to prevent them. Can you offer me any advice or recommend a good ENT in the Austin area. Thanks.

Hi,
Recurrent sinus infections can be due to obstruction of sinus passages, deviated nasal septum, recurrent bacterial or viral infections, nasal polyps etc. You need to get a CT scan for confirmation of the exact cause for this. If there is any obstruction then endoscopic nasal sinus surgery can be considered. Hope this helps. Best.
