Chronic hives - treatment

Hi guys

After reading all your stories, it has totally freaked me out! I have had my case of the chronic hives for over 6 months now and thought the worse worse case scenario was 2 years - now I know differently! I just thought I would share what I am doing to try and get rid of this lovely affliction!

After seeing the doctor and the allergist, being put on the steroids and then the anti-histamines daily, I eventually went and saw a clinical nutitionist. She ran a myriad of blood tests and determined that my liver wasn't producing enough bile, and as a consequence of that (and years of stress and diet), my body wasn't absorbing what it needed from my food.  As a result, my small intenstine is rather clogged up, mouldy and not looking so good on the inside! And this is for someone who exercises every day, played competitive sport and generally eats healthily! That said, I did eat alot of carbs, wheat and processed food..and alcohol...the big vice!

Anyways, the short of it all is that I have just started on a clinically drafted detox program to clear out my insides and get everything working the way it should! I'm a week into it - and so far so good. In addition to a variety of supplements each morning, the first 3 days was limited to vegetable broth, green tea and vegetable juice and during this period, not once did my hives come up - not once! The first time in 6 months!  Now I am into the rest of the detox (no wheat, alcohol, coffee, meat, chicken, gluten, coffee, oil, certain veges and certain fruits etc etc) and while my hives are appearing in the morning, they are gone and remain gone for the day. I haven't had to take my medication either so the hives that are coming up are not itchy or causing swelling!

Just thought it might help you guys out there if you haven't seen anyone yet - go see a clinical nutritionist and see if they can help...not sure if its going to help me, but its a step in the right direction!

There's another hives discussion going on under woody21 if you would like to hear other hives stories.  Just wondering how you're going to eat after the detox.
Maybe you should consider digestive enzymes since your liver isn't up to par.
