Cold Uticaria

Cold Uticaria

I was diagnosed with Cold Uticaria when I was 10 years old. I am now 50 years old. It seems that this "condition" is getting more extreme. I am now taking 2 Claritin in the morning to be able to walk outside or even sit at my desk (my forearms breakout when they touch my desk). I am having to wear gloves most of the time, but even that doesn't really help. Went to my GP and they have put me on Prednisone along with the Claritin, but have only been on that for 2 days. They are sending me to an allergist to see if there is anything else that can be done.  I am losing faith in the medical community. They seem to only want to give me more drugs, and not tell me what might be the root problem. As I said, I have been living with this "condition" for a very long time and have gotten used to what I have to do to survive. My biggest question is...does it typically get worse as you age?
