Desensitization

I have chronic lung disease (atypical CF along with being chronically vented for a failed diaphragm...germs love me!) that unfortunately results in chronic infection/inflammation. I am literally hospitalized about every 3-4 months for weeks at a time for IV antibiotics to reduce the colonies. (I am colonized with PA, cepacia, staph and others). My cultures reveal that Cipro and its cousins would work well as well as Bactrim against my infections, only problem is that I am allergic to them. Cipro and Levaquin is an immediate reaction, last time it was given to me nearly a decade ago, I got hives as it was being infused into me and my throat began to swell. Bactrim was more of a delayed response, I got violently ill with intractable vomiting and hives about a week into the treatment (again, nearly a decade ago)
My question...my docs would love it if I could become desensitized to any or both of these meds as they can be taken by mouth and possibly I could be treated at home with the oral antibiotics and go for IV's as a last resort.
Bactrim they are more leery about because it is a delayed reaction (more of a risk of Stevens Johnson syndrome with desensitization according to 2 immunologists). As for Cipro, what would be involved with desensitization? I would love it if that antibiotic could be used. (I have a huge list of allergies, the most significant are Cipro and Bactrim...the others are IV antibiotics such as Merrem, Vanco, Oxacillin...)
