Does this affect Everything I do?

Does this affect Everything I do?

This whole thing started out with my Sinus problems. My GP sent me to Allergist because after having CAT scan they found that although my sinuses were severly scarred from years of sinus infections, I had no polyps or  anything abnormal growths.
Then they did the Antibody tests and it showed I have almost no Antibody G's running around! And hardly any of one of the other ones either. I 'm sorry I cant remember right now and feel very tired but want to get this in.
I would get severe headaches and still do if I eat certain foods, to the point of violently throwing up.
Or going into anaphalctic shock or my whole face will just swell up!
The symptoms just get me very depressed sometimes. I cant eat just anything because I'll be allergic to it. And have some nasty reaction.
I also have Hashimotos Autoimmune Disease so I have to be careful not to eat processed foods either.
My question is does this also affect how fast my brain can process things as well ?
I really need some more info on this. Please help

Hi,
To answer your question, no the allergic re-action does not affect your brain's ability to process things but the medications you are on for the allergy does.
The "first-generation" or sedating antihistamines, may cause side effects like drowsiness or anxiety. This is probably what is making you feel the way you are.
How-ever the newer antihistamines are much less likely to when taken at the recommended dosage.
The first generation of sedating antihistamines such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl) and chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton) are effective for many patients, especially if they have symptoms that keep them up at night.
Another advantage is that they are very inexpensive.
More and more often, allergists prescribe a course of immunotherapy, more commonly known as allergy shots. You could consider the last two as treatment options.
