Drying and peeling lips

Hello,

I am having a 2 month battle with drying and peeling lips. I've been to a dermatologist that has tried prescription strength antibiotic and antifungal ointments, aquafor (tons), hydrocortisone, candida diet, vitamins, etc. No luck. I'm seeing an allergist next week and am trying to prepare. I tested negative for celiacs.  I do get occasion itching around the mouth and initially had some swelling .My question is if anyone knows of allergens that cause chronic lip dryness and peeling? Thanks!!!

Hi,

It's difficult to tell what triggers the allergic attacks. Only constant monitoring can help you identify the allergens. It could be the makeup ingredients and sometimes the food could have the allergens. Environmental triggers or seasonal or diurnal variations triggers may be difficult to avoid, as sometimes changes in temperature can trigger attacks. Alternatively an allergy specialist may try to identify the offending allergen and try to desensitize you.
