Hi, Thanks for your comments.

I have replaced my bedlinin and pillows and covers with Anti-Allergy ones. Tried air purifiers (HEPA system) tried it but found it is very noisey(Had to take it back). Can't replace the carpet at moment(think of moving), tried  steroidal nasal sprays for 2 months but did not find them effictive. I am now trying out Cetirizine to see if that helps.

Hi! ...We do some work with a company that may have a solution that helps people in this situation.  About a third of our lives are spent in bed and beds are a haven for dust mites because of the warm and humid environment that allows them to dine on human skin flakes. Dust mite excreta are loaded with allergens that cause the negative allergy symptoms. The Asthma Society of Canada and the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America have approved many products as being “certified asthma and allergy friendly”. This includes SmartSilk bedding products. They have been proven to kill dust mites by removing the heat and moisture dust mites need to survive. The product really helped my daughter. Check out the SmartSilk website.

Hello,
You can tackle your allergic problem in the following ways: Prevention and Therapy during attacks.

For prevention: Try to maintain an allergen-free environment. Substitute all synthetic and cool materials with cotton ones. Remove all dust-collecting household articles like carpets, bedspreads etc. Alternatively an allergy specialist can help to desensitize you.

Using low dose steroidal nasal sprays are very effective. The steroid in the spray is very low and acts only locally. Two puffs in each nostril two times a days for about a month. The effect starts only after 2weeks of therapy.

Once an attack has occurred, the antihistamines like chlopheneramine, lovatidine are effective. Nasal decongestant drops too relieve congestion.

Hope this helped and Do keep us posted.

Hello,
Have you eliminated unecessary fabrics from you bedroom?  ie. - upholstered furniture, silk plants, carpeting, drapery (replace with roller blinds),  If you have a ceiling fan, make sure that it is cleaned regularly.  You may also want to have your HVAC vent and ducts cleaned.  That can be a source of dust as well.

I have recently learned that pillows should be replaced once a year.  Maybe a new pillow would help your symptoms.

You may have other problem allergens as well.  You might want to try keeping any pets out of your bedroom at all times.  Also, look for sources of mold from leaks or water in the shower that doesn't evaporate quickly.  Showering before bedtime will help reduce allergen exposure as well.

Running an airpurifier next to your bed may be helpful as well.  Some people find that their "white noise" helps them sleep better as well.  You would want a HEPA system though.  Ionic air purifiers produce ozone which is not good.

I hope those idease are helpful.

Let us know how you are doing.

God bless.
