Have you ever tried anything natural. When you have been on a lot of antibiotics not only does it kill that bad bacteria, but it also kills the good. It is a viscousViscous lidocaine cycle of sickness, antibiotic, side effects from antibiotic, then no immune system. Your body never really has a chance to build up that good bacteria for immunity. I know because my son had 9 in his first year. The doctor said i had two more months and then we would have to do tubes. I did not want to do tubes because a friend of ours had had such a terrible time with there sons. So, I was pretty much open to anything. A friend approached me and said have you ever used essential oils? I said "no" but i'm willing to try anything. I took him to someone who knew a lot about them and since the day i took him to her we haven't been back to the doctor. It was Jan 18 of this year. I have been so grateful for them. No one in our family have been to the doctor this year. Anyway, it took a month of me being faithful at using them the way she told me, and now i only use them when we are sick. The whole purpose was to build his immune system. We used the oils, replenished the good bacteria in is body (probiotics), and gave him some high antioxidant juice. I know that those ear infections are so hard. Post an let me know if you have any questions.
Also what apparently works for chronic ear infections (and I think it was Dr. Weil who said this) is cranial sacral therapy. The great news is, the practitioner hardly touches you, but you can feel the results the very next day.
Do a google search for "cranial sacral therapy" and "recurrent ear infections" and you will find plenty of infection about this gentle therapy.
You didn't say age but I'm guessing neice is very young & loves
to swim? Earplugs are good for that except kids don't keep them clean after ea. use & can cause infection. 2 mo of antibio's
off/on w/ no resolution could mean: wrong rx/now resistant/
q-tip use pushing in cell debrie/who knows. If real young, the
tubes haven't grown enough & maybe collapsing. She may need a
sinus ct to rule out blockage if it's just 1 ear. A hair-dyrer
on cool is best to dry canal. A tympanogram test on the ear,
(earplug that is put in & takes 1 min.) pulls unseen fluid to
window to ck for Serous fluid trapped in middle ear. Generally
the scope can see but sometimes test surprises them. The
eustachian tubes are in the back of throat & make contact to
middle ear, so if she gets inflammed throat, it can cause a
fullness feeling in the ear. Lack of venting can create a
repeat of bacteria formation. If chronic earache, it shouldn't
go too long. They can also do a easy needle aspiration through
window to ck contents & send to lab. In ofc. & doesn't hurt
after a foam to numb is used. She should be seeing an ENT & not
reg-doc. Gd-luck.
