Extreme, constant weeping poison ivy!

I've gotten this two years in a row!  It's poison ivy on my neck that turns into one giant weeping monster!  Last year I did nothing but scratch it and touch it and it became horrible.  I went to the ER after a week of suffering and they gave me some pills (I think it was oral steroids)  I was told it was some type of external strep (I think).  

This year, I learned my lesson and didn't touch it!!  But I STILL have it... it's weeping (not as bad as the year before) but it began weeping yesterday and now today it won't stop.  Calamine lotion doesn't do a thing.  The fluids just go right through it.  Ivy dry does nothing but sting now.  What can I do??

For the symptoms themselves, treatments in mild cases include cool compresses and nonprescription lotions like Calamine.
However just this won't do .You have to take oral anti-histamines to treat the allergy. When the symptoms are severe, corticosteroids applied to the skin or taken orally are used.
