FOUND: Answer to Blood Pressure Allergy!!!!!!!!

by Deeds, May 18, 2007 12:00AM
It's been what - 6 months...the search is finally OVER!  I have Candida Albicans! Which is causing all my alleriges. Candida is in everyones body but, a lowered immune system will/can cause an overgrowth of Candida that runs rampant thru your body and causes all sorts of allergies and problems!! I had a blood test and stool sample culture - confirmed all just now!  WHEW!!!!!  I am going to start nystatin treatment to kill the yeast! I'd be happy to share my story with those that want to know - you can probably read my past threads and realize all I've been thru!!!!  I am tickled PINK that I have an ANSWER!

Gives me hope that one day I will get down to the main cause of my chronic hives.

Best of Luck with your treatment! :)

I'm so glad to hear that you finally got some results. I have heard that candida albicans can also cause some problems with absorbtion of essential vitamins and nutrients in the intestines. Some children that they think have add actually have this problem and until it's treated have the brain effects. Sorry to go off on that tangent. Do they think that you'll be able to take the bp meds after treatment? I hope you are doing well and maybe get some rest now knowing your problems. Take care, tmv

Somehow my immune system was compromised (we are looking at long term  mold exposure) which lowered my immune system and poof - candida thrived...Your body does reject B12 and B vitamins when compromised...My allergist and biomeridian doctor found a B12 that I wasn't allergic too -and I get a B vitamin mix made by a compound pharmacist that is made without 'fillers' that I am allergic to... The largest clue to me that I had Candida was that I was suddenly allergic to mushrooms, peanuts, chocolate and yeasts...I also had sudden vertigo and ear pain...with enhanced allergies to toxic chemicals/perfumes etc... I am glad I did my own research and I am glad I was persistent in my search for what was wrong.  The biomeridian PhD helped confirm my suspicions when she placed an antifungal on the testing machine along with my Blood Pressure meds...the antifungal made the BP med rise to a non allergic state!!  In any case, I don't know what the future holds as far as term of treatment and it's lasting effects but, anythings a start!!!!!!  My older sister has severe vertigo that came on last year, she's almost crippled with arthritis - I really want her tested as no one has been able to tell her what is wrong wih her!  she has SO many of the symtoms!!

Apparently it is common for family members to have it as well.

I am now taking ThreeLac and other helpful supplements (as well as a good diet) because I did the "spit test" and i failed MISERABLY. Candida might explain ALL my symptoms, including chronic hives, allergies to EVERYTHING, clear mucus that I choke on every hour of every day, HYPER sensitivity to perfumes, smoke, just about any smell, etc.

I'm only on week 1 of the treatment, so I don't know if this is my answer.

Two weeks of gagging down the Nystatin (yuck!) and now it's been about 1-2 months since starting it... I feel back to my ole self!!!!!!  I will admit - I am a horrible medicine taker...so, once the nystatin was working - I stopped it. I know - Bad Bad Bad patient!!!!  My vertigo is gone, my hives, everything!!  I am even able to tolerate using Tide and dryer sheets again!!  Sounds so stupid but, having to use allergy free, perfume free this and that was making me nutso!!
Also, we renovated our family room - pulled up all the old (((I MEAN OLD!)) carpet and layed down hardwood floor...allergies are now at a minimum!!!!!!!
I am SO much happier and back to my ole self!!!!!!! yeah!

Were you having an allergic reaction to BP meds?  I have been reacting to them for over a year now and I am stumped as to the reason.  I will try to go back and read your previous threads.  I can't seem to tolerate any type of medication anymore and have been severely fatigued for a long time.  I feel like a hypochondriac these days as I have so may complaints.  Did your regular doctor diagnose you with Candida Albicans or did you go to some type of specialist?  I have thought maybe that was my problem.  Glad to see you are feeling better.
