Flonase use in Pediatric/Adolescent?

Flonase use in Pediatric/Adolescent?

My Doctor prescribed me Flonase for my allergies. I am a 16 year old male almost 17. I was reading on the internet about this drug and the effects it may have on pediatric use or adolescent use. This drug is a steroid, and I don’t know if Flonase will effect my growth, how long should I be taking this drug? I only get allergies in the spring so I assume I won’t be taking this for long. A few years ago they gave me Flonase and I did fine. But was I really ok? Do you think if I used this before for a few months and didn’t have any negative long-term side effects, Should I have nothing to worry about?

Hello,
Cases of growth suppression have been reported for intranasal corticosteroids as well as Flonase but it has been reported in the pediatric population. However if you notice any bone or joint pain, hypercorticism and adrenal suppression symptoms, then pls stop taking Flonase, otherwise you can take it as long as your doctor prescribes it.

I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
