France & anaphylatic shock

France & anaphylatic shock

Dear All,

I live in France and about 14 years ago I suffered anaphylatic shock in the UK prior to moving out here but the doctors could not discover the reason for it, well 3 years ago at Bastile Day celebrations I suffered it again in France this time.  This time all thought is was wasp/bee/hornet stings, but all the tests have now proved negative and I have been discharged but warned that my attacks are so severe that there maybe no chance for me to received treatment in time.  I now carry the "pen" and steriod and antihistamine tablets, but I know from my reactions which are as follows:

A feeling of intense heat - as if my body is boiling from the inside, I believe I swell up, but cannot confirm this, vomiting and a need to go to the toilet and not for a "pee" either and then  nothing - just unconsciousness which then puts me in the intensive care unit of the cardiac hospital where they said I had suffered heart problems due to the anaphylatic shock.  This last episode caused me to be in hospital for over a week in intensive care.

As all the usual tests are negative, can anyone offer any ideas as to what has caused this, it is not food related as the food I had eaten that day was just normal food I have eaten before with no problems.

The only small light is that both events happened near trees - although the first one I had actually moved into an open area, and the last attack I was under an oak tree in France.

Any help would be most welcome.  Thanking you in anticipation - as you can imagine I am very scared and summer is coming up fast.

Sue

Hi,

What does your allergy specialist tell you? have you had these symptoms in relation to any other specific substances?

Have you told your allergy specialist about the relation to tress? What exact symptoms do you have?

Let us know the answersto the above questions so that we may help with your query.

Regards.
