HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

iam 22.. iam having a habit of smoking.. but recently i stoppred my smoking habit. before a 15 day i went to doctor because of oneside head ache.. in that doctor find out that i has a pressure of 140-100.. suddenly i took x-ray of chest and echo my heart and ecg.. all those completed and results came normall... iam taking tablets for High Pressure Now. still i not test of kidney. after 10 days of tablet taken i went for a check up... still my pressure level is same.. can you help me up to get alright

Hi, welcome to the forum, high BP in the young age needs proper evaluation. First thing to be ruled out are pheochromocytoma; Apart from high BP there can be sweating, palpitations, dyspnea, generalized weakness, (particularly in pheochromocytomas that produce epinephrine) and rise in blood pressure is episodic.

24-hour urine catecholamines and metanephrines and Fractionated plasma free metanephrines with CT/MRI of abdomen and pelvis will aid in diagnosis. Aortic dissection esp. of abdominal aorta can be another possibility. Stress-induced (takotsubo) cardiomyopathy is another possibility, which is manifested by intense emotional outcry leading to sympathetic stimulation. I would suggest you to consult a physician with all possibilities for early diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Take care and regards.
