Hair Color Allergy

I am very allergic.  I have been getting by with professional hair coloring but have sometimes had either skin irritation or breathing difficulty afterwards - by the next day.  The last time I went in, I had a pretty severe breathing problem and thought I might end up in the ER.  My stylist said she did not touch my scalp with the product.  I would like to keep using a color but don't want to end up with a severe reaction.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.  I am following up with my doctors but suspect my hair coloring days are over.  After further research, I find that many of the same ingredients are used by cosmetic makers for hair care as well as toothpaste, soap, etc.  That means I am being exposed repeatedly in a day to the same irritants.

Hello and hope you are doing well.

It could be an allergic reaction as the symptoms have occurred repeatedly with the same product. An allergy specialist may help diagnose this allergy and may help to desensitize you.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
