How much swelling is normal for a bee sting.
Hi, i stood on a bee and was stung on the food. The thing is my foot is swelling and looks like i sprained a ankle instead of getting stung by a bee. Is this normal? I am not experiencing any other reactions other than the swelling. Should I go see the doctor?

Hi,
Symptoms of a bee sting can be local or systemic. Systemic reactions are severe and can lead to life threatening situations. Local reactions can be in the form of redness, pain, swelling, itching etc which can last upto a week. If you are not experiencing any other symptoms other than swelling chances of bee sting cannot be ruled out. Confirmation on this can be achieved only through physical examination by a physician. Hope this helps. Best.
