Is it safe I’m pregnant and had to take 4 courses antibiotics

hi  I’m a 5 month pregnant and I got sick and had to take 4 courses of antibiotics, (not in a row) but in a very short time period.

Is it safe for the baby?

Thanks for writing to the forum! Congratulations too!

Needless to say, the lesser medications you take the better it is. Some antibiotics cross the placental barrier and reach the fetus. These are usually not prescribed for pregnant ladies. The first trimester is the trickiest period for the fetus and most harmful for the fetus to be exposed to medications. However all medications do not harm the fetus. What antibiotics did you take?
Amoxicillin, ampicillin, cephalosporins, metronidazole and erythromycin are some of the safe ones.

I took Amoxcillin, I had to I was so sick, my doctor says its ok but since its the forth time I had to take Amoxcillin, I got worried.
