Is this normal for a mosquito bite? What is it?

by molls1124, Nov 02, 2009 05:28PM
I had a mosquito bite on my foot, and I itched it like crazy, and then out of NO where, something that looked like a very small, blood blister appeared...like as small as a bebe pellet..(almost as small as if it was exactly where it stung me) .nd when I popped it, blood came out. Then I left it alone for like 2 minutes, and it already reformed, and I could pop it again and MORE blood came out. 1 minuite later it reformed. Was it a mosquito bite? A spider bite? -- the blood blister-looking thing wasnt there until I itched it like crazy...

Hi,
How are you? Mosquito bites do not usually behave that way. Are there other symptoms present? Blood blisters are a type of blister that is filled with blood and may be caused by a rupture of the blood vessels underneath the skin’s surface. This rupture is usually caused by some form of trauma. Refrain from popping the blister to prevent secondary infection. It should be covered with a soft dressing for protection. If it persists or recurs, have this evaluated further for proper management.  Take care and do keep us posted.
