Itchyness after Root Canal being done

I had a Root canal done a month ago, The next morning my face on the same side as the root canal procedure was totally itchy. Then a few days later my whole body itches and I break out with hives and stuff mainly on my neck if I don't take a benadryl... It wont stop on its own. When I take 25mg of benadryl it makes it go away for about a day and a half. I talked to my endontist that did the procedure and he swears up & down that he has never ever heard of this before ever and he is like 60 years old. How can this be? Could it be the gutta percha or maybe the epoxy used on the temperary cap? Has anyone here ever heard of this? is there any way to test these things? SOS!  PS- I tried to put this on the dental forum too but they don't seem to be accepting any new questions at this time..

HI, did you take antibiotics after the surgery for your tooth?
Maybe you are/were allergic to the anti-biotics.

Yes, I was taking Clindimycine and i stopped that 4 days after the procedure thinking that was the cause....This was a month ago now.....As of Saturday morning i have now lost 85% of my taste and smell.....

maybe when you had the root canal the nerve was affected.  Could be a good idea to discuss with the dentist that did your procedure...or another one.
