Long term use of pseudoephedrine-triprolidine

Are there any studies related to the long term use of pseudoephedrine-triprolidine?  I took this over the counter medication for over 20 years.   I am 40 years old now, and am experiencing many ailments, that the doctors can't identify cause.  B12 deficiency, Diabetes, High Cholesterol, digestive issues, persistant rashes, depression, lethargy, heart issues, and the list goes on.   I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find anything.  Surely some studies have been done.

Hello,

Pseudoephedrine/Triprolidine is an antihistamine and decongestant combination. Long-term use can cause RM(rhinitis medicamentosa)i.e rebound nasal congestion. The possible other side effects include palpitations, anxiety, nervousness, weakness, fever , chills, hallucinations, seizures, severe dizziness and drowsiness and easy bruising.

I don’t feel that the symptoms that you have mentioned has any connection with long term use of this drug. They are independent of this drug usage.

I feel that cholesterol imbalance, heart issues and diabetes should be tackled by a cardiologist and endocrinologist as specific medicines are required for them.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hi
I have also used this product and due to it being one of the main ingredients in speed there is moer information regarding the effects you mention, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphetamine

There may also be another cause.....I am not a dr but I have been researching thyroid problems for my wife and we have found some evidence regarding the sort of symptoms you talk about... using soy products like soy milk and tofu can effect the normal function of the thyroid which in turn can effect metabolism, weakness etc.
