dear doctor, can you please tell where we can treat Mastocytosis, the baby was born with it and it's 2 months old now, he was born with swollen liver and spleen and he was treated only after a month with antihistamine, we are in Macedonia.
thank you for your time
Mastocytosis is a disorder characterized by mast cell proliferation and accumulation within various organs. Skin is most commonly affected. Therapy is based on the symptoms. Besides antihistamines, oral disodium cromoglycate may help with the skin symptoms.
You can consult an oncologist or a hematologist for therapy. As we do not maintain a directory of doctors in this forum, I cannot provide reference to a doctor in your province. Your primary care physician or your pediatrician may be able to guide you appropriately. Good Luck.
