I have been to my PCP and 2 different ENT specialists.  I have had this mucus ball in my throat for 3yrs now--without any relief.  I have drinked tons of water, taken guaifenesin(mucines), steroid inhalers and other nasal sprays to no relief.  I had a CT of my sinuses-which my ENT said was clear, but something has got to give.  When you find a doctor willing to suppress the gag reflex and suction this horrid mess out of the throat, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, post this so I could make an appointment or email me at (***@****).  I have suggested this to my ENT who stated that it could not be done--but, no explanation as to why not!  I hack up this mucus every day-many times a day and I too, speak to clients on the phone and at times get choked while I am talking.   Someone please help.

Well, in mid-September I got really sick with a sinus infection; about a week later I was put on antiobioctics for 10 days.  However, I developed a really nast cough - so I called and they put me on another round of antibioctics that were stronger.  The cough still persisted and I went in for a follow-up, was given a temp inhaler and decongest.  No fever or other symptoms, just the cough coupled with some ear plugging and nose stuff here and there.   Here it is the end of October and I still have a cough that includes flem sometimes, ear and nose stuff.  I went back Thursday and without a scan of my chest or anything, gives me the steroids.  I also have a yeast infection from the antibioctics, so I got a one dose pill for that as well.

I hate taking pills, but I really am worried about the Medrol; I have started about a week ago a mucinex/clariten combo which has helped - but I just want it to go away!!  Any thoughts would be greatly helpful!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

This is a drug (steroid) given for severe allergies, arthritis, skin conditions and asthma. The severity of symptoms, prolonged duration and poor response to other drugs are the key factors in deciding this line of treatment. It is difficult to comment beyond this without complete medical history. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.
