Mouth Rash

by barb152, Jun 19, 2006 12:00AM
My daughter has a recurring problem with a rash around her mouth.  When she was younger, we thought it was tomatoes but the problem persisted even after changing her diet.  Then we thought it was chlorine.  Now it seems it is caused by the sun.  It starts out feeling sore and then gets red around her mouth and appears dry.  A dermatologist said use chapstick.  She is in a lot of pain.  any ideas?

I believe that rubbing petroleum jelly on the rash will help her a lot.

My daughter has something like what you described. I put it all around her mouth before bed and she wakes up looking/feeling much better. :)

Hope that helps you,

Brad

If Chapstick doesn't work, change to one that doesn't use parafin wax.  Sometimes people are allergic to that, too.
