NECK RASH

My son is 13 months, and had a rash on his neck this past weekend. This is the 2nd time within a month this has happened. The first, four weeks ago, started on the right ear, went down the neck to the shoulder, across the back of the neck, to the other ear. He then had the same rash in his diaper area as well. Looked like bad exzema (eczema) with white pimples heads. First time took him to ER, said not a food allergy, and gave his liquid steroid which helped to clear it up. This time, I gave him Benadryl and within 36 hrs it was gone.
ANY help or suggestions . . . . please let me know.
