Nausea caused from something in Knee Replacement

My friend has been experiencing severe nausea on a daily basis shortly after having a knee replacement.  Could this nausea be caused by allergic reaction to one of the metals used in the replacement?    She tends to be sensitive to many things, such as medications.  This has been going on since beginning of March.  Her surgery was in mid-February.
Please help.

Hi, welcome to the forum, nausea seems to be unlikely due to metal replacement and it is not due to allergy. It can be due to pain killer induced gastritis, acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease. Pain killers like Ibuprofen has common side effects like nausea, vomiting, dizziness etc. She might be having side effects of the drug she is taking. Even certain antibiotics like aminoglycosides can cause such symptoms.

Anti-emetics which are preferred initially are pyridoxine (vitamin B6) then if not effective then doxylamine,  ondansetron etc. can be used against prescription.  if not effective then the other class of drugs are used. I suggest her to consult physician for further evaluation. Take care and regards.
