Numbness and redness in maxillary sinus area

by poomlog, Jan 30, 2007 12:00AM
I feel on my face a numbness/tingling/fullness sensation every hour of every day, sometimes it is couple with excessive (more or less) blood flow to my cheekbone skin and appears ruddy and other times it is not.  Sort of like a flush, except I don't get heated or warm or anything, just an odd numbess/fullness sort of sensation.  I don't know what could be causing this, the only thing I could think of would be either allergy or sinus related.  This problem has been going on for about 2 years now ever since I first started getting Allergy Shots for my dust mite allergy.  After I began recieving the shots, I got eczema on my legs too, this is why I think my condition is something sinus related rather than dermatology-related.

I find the condition worsens later in the day, and is at its peak late night hours.  It is really fustrating because it is a huge hindrance for me, and to make matters worse I don't even know if it has a name.

Does anyone have an idea what condition or possible obstruction I could have in that sinus if anything?  What could my symptoms lead to? I am finding it hard to get informatiom because every search I do ends up with "sinus infections" and "rosacea".  I don't rosacea, because first off my condition looks nothing like it, I don't have real triggers, I am only 20 years old, am not fair-skinned (as in celtic etc.), don't have bumps, restricted entirely to the maxillary region, and know no one else in my family with the condition.

Thank You.
