My dad had an allergic reaction to hair dye, his face is swollen. He is refusing medical treatment, but is taking Benadryl. How long will it take for the swelling to go away? He is not having difficulty breathing or any vision problems.
Welcome to the forum!
If your father has only swollen face then it is a local reaction to dye. He can take an antiallergic (he is already taking) and an anti-inflammatory (to bring down the swelling). This should subside in 3-4 days. If it persists please consult a doctor. Needless to say your father should not use hair dyes that have the ingredients present in the dye he used recently.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
