Perplexed at chronic cough, sinus drainage, and now a nose bleed! Enough already!

by lovefamily, May 25, 2007 12:00AM
I am 27 weeks pregnant.  I have suffered with allergie problems since spring started and have had a cough since the first of March. I normally have allergie problems even when I am not pregnant. I cough so hard that with being pregnant and the baby on the bladder that I urinate myself, and my stomach muscles are sore.  I have been to the Dr.  They first told me to take Claritan D because I was so stuffed up.  Then they switched me to Zyrtech D and now that my head isn't stuffed up, I am on regular zyrtech.  The problem is I still have lots of drainage.  I have been diagnosed with asthma several years ago, but haven't been having problems with it as long as I stay away from the stuff that will put me in an attack such as cigg. smoke.  Tonight I woke up and started the typical coughing like I do each morning when I get up and off and on through the day.  I blew my nose and had a lot of blood.  If I take a deep breath I cough more.  I have been also suffering with a lot of acid reflux with this pregnancy and take zantac for it.  The Dr. Prescribed me Tessalon for the coughing.  It doesn't seem to help and I am afraid of hurting the baby with too many meds.  I have had it with the coughing, sore muscles, sinus drainage, and wet pants!  Anyone have any ideas. Ask the Dr. forum was full.

One thing you can do is improve the quality of your air. It sounds to me that your lungs are getting constantly irritated by some sort of particle that is common in your environment. This can be taken care of if you get something like a whole house air purifier. I used to have problems with the air in my home. The problem I came to found out was an overload of particles in my air, which I've further found is quite common in any given household. The only variance is the people living there which sometimes do not have as violent a reaction to the bad air.

So, what I would suggest to you is what I did and get a Polarized Media Filter that you can just put on your furnace. I heard about this originally from a friend of mine and thus did some research on it to find out about it before I purchased it. After the research I decided it worked the way the company had described it, and I haven't had many problem with it. I did have a few questions after I bought it, but the company I called cooperated with me completely. Out of all the filters out there, and systems, which normally costs a whole bundle, I found this one system to work out best.

The best place for price and further information on Polarized Media Filters is at www.airlifeone.com. But I'd look for the Electrobreeze filters before I looked at the other ones, just because it's cheaper but essentially the same product.

I hope that this helps you and your baby out, because I agree, too many meds can and will compromise your baby's health.
