My twenty-month old son this evening ate two yogurts and a bowl of pineapple and nothing else. Two hours later he woke up with a terrible stomach ache. Could you please tell me whether you think that this stomach ache could have been caused by the pineapple, or the yogurt, or the combination of the two? I do not think that he has a pineapple allergy because he has eaten it many times before without any problems. However, I wonder whether the acid in pineapple, particularly in the evening, could cause indigestion.
I also would like to know: What can I do to help him to alleviate the stomach pain? Is there a medication for such young babies that helps stomach aches? Is there something I can give him to eat that could neutralize the pineapple acid, if that is the problem?
Please advise as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Geraldine
