Prednisone is a synthetic corticosteroid drug that is usually taken orally but can be delivered by intramuscular injection and can be used for a great number of different conditions.
Unfortunately you are experiencing the known side-effects of this drug. Since it is indicated in your condition you will have to tolerate is state of affairs.
Major side effects of prednisolone include weight gain,facial swelling etc.Long-term side-effects include Cushing's syndrome, weight gain, osteoporosis, glaucoma, type II diabetes mellitus, and depression upon withdrawal.
Symptoms of Cushing's syndrome include rapid weight gain, particularly of the trunk and face with sparing of the limbs (central obesity), a round face often referred to as a "moon face," excess sweating.
