Pregnancy and Hives

Hi, last week my husband opened up a box of calamarie (squid) and i started to get red itchy bumps on my arms. We both thought it was just an allergic reaction, which is weird because I have never been allergic to anything in my life. I am 32 wks pregnant now and the red, itchy, burning bumps is all over my legs, thighs, behind, and arms. This **** is everywhere. I've tried maximum srtength hydrocortisone cream and it did nothing. I can't sleep at night and I don't know what to do this is terrible pain and it *****. Someone told me I could try oatmeal baths, but is it regular eatible oatmeal and do I just pour it into my bath water? Pleeease help!

Hello,

The symptoms that you are having seem to be hives.Although antihistaminics are usually not recommended during preganancy but cetrizine can be taken in late pregnancy after consulting your obs/gynae specialist. Also apply calamine lotion on the rashes as it will help in soothing the skin.

Oatmeal bath by pouring oatmeals is also helpful.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing if you have any additional queries.
