I notice a week ago that i had small white bumbs that looked like pimples on my neck not thinking much of it i went about my business but then on a airplane a few day later they were all over my chest and down my arms and now itched. now they are even down on my legs! some people have told me its a heat rash but i dont know what it is! could this be a allergic reaction to something?
How are you? Heat rash is also known as prickly heat and miliaria. This is usually seen in babies but it also affects up to a third of adults living in tropical climates or during hot, humid weather. This develops when your sweat ducts become blocked and perspiration is trapped under your skin. Heat rash looks like a red cluster of pimples or small blisters that maybe associated with itching. It is more likely to occur on the neck and upper chest, in the groin, under the breasts, and in elbow creases. Adults usually develop heat rash in skin folds and wherever clothing causes friction. Most often, heat rash goes away on its own. Severe forms of heat rash may need medical care, but the best way to relieve symptoms is to cool your skin and prevent sweating. Keep the affected area dry. Dusting powder may be used to increase comfort. To relieve discomfort and prevent complications, topical treatments may include: calamine lotion to soothe itching, anhydrous lanolin which may help prevent duct blockage and stop new lesions from forming, and topical steroids in the most serious cases.
Allergic reaction may be triggered by a known cause. Do you have history of allergy? Symptoms like rash, nasal congestion or nausea or vomiting usually appear immediately after the exposure to the allergen. I do not think this is the reason for your rash.
