Re-occurring reaction

5769009?1276004336
Hi there,

About 3 years ago I was bitten on my finger by what I assumed was a spider, or some kind of insect. There was the usual reaction of swelling, but it went down after a few days of taking antihistamine. However, 3 years on and every few months the reaction keeps re-appearing. It is mainly on one main spot of my finger but sometimes there are marks throughout the whole finger, sometimes even spreading slightly to another finger. I wouldn't say it is painful as such, but it is irritating, and very tender. I have tried stronger antihistamine as well as hydro cortisone cream, which temporarily gets rid of the reaction. But it always returns! Any advice? thanks

OMG you need to go to the doctor.  You need blood work done for infection, you need a rheumatoid panel done, and you need to be tested for lupus.  I dont know if it was a spider that bit you and if the venom can last that long, but you definitely have something going on there.  Please make sure you see a doctor.  This could be a major infection inside your finger that has dormant times, but then reoccurs after a certain period of time.  They may need to even try to drain your finger and send the fluid off for a culture to see what it is.  I hope you get better soon.
