Seeking new treatments or products for seasonal allergies - HELP!!

I am allergic to just about every tree and flower there is - the list of my allergy triggers is quite long!) Every time I am outside I become a wheezing, itchy, stuffy, sneezing, red-eyed mess!  I have tried allergy shots and medications - none of them seem to really work for me.  Even worse, antihistamines make me feel gross and so tired – yuck!

With a big family reunion upcoming at my Aunt’s summer home soon (which includes day-long party in their garden) - I hope someone out there can share some information about any EFFECTIVE allergy products or treatments that might help me deal with my allergies.  Any help or advice would be really cool – thanks a bunch!   ;-)

Hi, welcome to the forum, if you have taken anti histaminics and as well as corticosteroids then there are less medical options.There are many allergens present in your surroundings. Unless you stop further exposure or unless you take measures to minimize the exposure, medical therapy will be not enough.

Some measures which will be helpful to you are-

- Treatment of the outside of a house with pyrethroid (pyrithrin) chemicals prior to cold weather is one of the best measures.
- you need to close the windows of the car and home, stay indoors when possible, and use air conditioners and dehumidifiers to filter the air during times of peak symptoms. It will be particularly helpful, if you are allergic to mold or pollens.
- Showering before bed to remove allergens from hair and skin can help reduce contamination of the bedding.
- Use over the counter nasal saline sprays which will help washout allergens.
- Water leaks should be fixed and swamp coolers should be cleaned periodically.
