Singulair versus Accolate for allergies

I'm taking Singulair because nothing else has helped my allergies, and it has been wonderful!  My insurance plan wants me to take generic Accolate.  Will Accolate work as well as Singulair for allergies?  Thank you!

Get a letter of medical necessity from your doctor, stating that you require Singulair and it is not advised to switch.  Additionally, you can contact the drug company, and they can also assist you as well in getting access to the med.  Try exploring different options.  You have a lot more power than you think.  I have no experience with Accolate, but I don't have much luck with generics. Hope that helps.
