Hi, the most common cause for nasal obstruction is Deviated nasal septum (DNS). This condition leads to obstruction and breathing difficulty. This can lead to sinus infection, ear infection and headaches.
Other possibilities are laryngeal web, asthma, any structural abnormalities in the nasal passage such as nasal polyps, hypertrophied turbinates etc.
You need to undergo detailed examination of nose and radiography of the sinuses to rule out existing sinusitis.
The septoplasty or rhinoplasty for deviated nasal septum (DNS) will help you to relieve your symptoms. I suggest you to consult ENT surgeon for further management. Take care and regards.
You should consider trying sinus rinses. However, if you severely congested they are such a good idea.
You should see a dr for an accurate diagnosis. It sounds like you could have an infection or just bad allergies. The dr could prescribe better medicines to treat your problems.
Feel better.
You can try a nasal aspirator, if you haven't already. they look like rubber bulbs and you find them in the baby section of any grocery or department store.
