Sinus infection still?

by jlgaustin, May 28, 2009 11:14AM
So I have had my latest bout of sinus infection, tried Omnicef for 14days and it cleared up the green stuff, but the infection and throbbing pain in my sinuses got worse and ears plugged up.  Went back to my ENT who gave me Avelox for 14 days, I went back because of side effects from the Avelox after 5 days, he took me off the Avelox and said just stop taking antibiotics for a while.

My sinuses are feeling better, but there is still mild throbbing and a little bit of ear popping.  Does this mean I still have some infection left?  He gave me a script for Augmentin for 10 days and said if I start feeling worse to start taking that.

No CT scans done this time around so far.

Should I give it a few days?  Is this common for the sinuses to still be inflamed or swollen for a while even after the infection has cleared?
