Skin itch and sinusitis

Skin itch and sinusitis

Hi I am new here. My concern is about my skin, why i have itch if i am outside and with the sunrays hitting me? It's like something is pricking my body. And also when I am inside the room with AC, my skin becomes red and itching, especially if it is very cold. I can't help myself from scratching the itch away. Can you help what this is?
And i have a problem also with my nose, i dont know if it's sinusitis or rhinitis, i felt sometimes that my nasal was blocked, and when i breath i can hear a whizzing sound, and sometimes i can hardly breath i felt like something is blocking inside my nose. And i have a nose drip of sometimes of clear fluid and sometimes yellowish thick fluid. Do I have an allergy?

Hi,

What you describe as far as the itch on temperature extremes is concerned, appears to be a sensitivity to the changes and variations in ambient temperatures. This is a known condiion, which is described as allergy to temperature and may manifest as itching and various other features. The first thing to do of course is to avoid the changes in temperature. There are many OTC anti-histamines which are available and therefore you may take some to calm your allergies. Further, use good sun screens and protective clothing when in the sun. Also. try and avoid going out in the sun during the afternoons when it is really hot. There are other measures which an allergist can help you better with.

Hope this helped. Let us know if you may need more information.

Best regards

Hi,

As far as the nose is concerned, there is a correlation between allergy and rhinitis or sinusitis. They are different entities of course but they can be related and there needs to be a good examination of the nasal passges to find out if this would be a sinusitis, rhinitis or any other blockage in the passages.

However, try some anti- histamines, and steam inhalation and also note if these episodes are any way related to your other problem mentioned in the post above.

You may mention this to your allergist when you go to him, alternatively, you may also go to a Ear nose throat specialist, who may help you too.

Keep us posted and let us know if you may need more information.

Best regards
