Steroids for allergies?

by thepurselady, Aug 22, 2006 12:00AM
I know there are no docs here but maybe someone can help me.  I have seen many drs without answers.  I have had blood workups all normal.  But I am loosing my hair, im female 37.  It began with intense burning on my scalp followed by thinning.  I also have itchy skin and burning on the tops of my arms and face.   I know this is some type of allergic reaction and wondering if anyone else has this, what type of steroid oral meds are recommended??  Thanks!

Predisone is the most common oral steriod. Intense itching can also be nerve related, or autoimmune. If it keeps up you may ask your dr to run some of the autoimmune panel of tests. Steriods can have serious side effects so you will have to be under a dr supervison.
