Surgical prep reaction-blistering

by b_wake, Jul 01, 2006 12:00AM
Recently had bunion surgury on both feet. 2 days after surgery skin on my feet felt hot and 'crawly'. Half of each foot in/around incision turned red/purple and blistered. Doc felt it was an allergic reaction to whatever was used as surgical prep/sterilization. Topical Lidex .05 perscribed. Not used close to/on incision so blisters there remain. Where the Lidex was used the rash has faded to red itchy skin. On the incision, the blisters are pulling it apart - now weeping and very slight bleeding. Wondering if due to incision, itchy skin appearing outer ears, eye lids and under arms is related. Starting to itch on arms, legs and back. Is anyone familiar with this type of reaction?
