Swelling in Face, Flakey, Burn

This all started about a year ago, my senior year. One day I woke up to my eyes basically swollen shut. They burned and itched. A few days later they began to flake, I thought I could just scrub off the flakes, but it caused it to hurt and burn more. After being tested like a lab rat, they came to the conclusion I was deathly allergic to cats and dogs, I found this obscured for the fact I have grown up with both my entire life, so why just break out now? So after being prescribed steroid pill after steroid pill, I still break out today. I don't get as flakey as I used to, I just swell up and my face turns bright red and it itches and burns!  I added a picture from about a year ago to help explain the flakes. Please help!

You need to see an Allergist to be tested...or this could go on and on...As we age(I'm a senior too) our bodies tend to change. Did you add s/thing different to your diet or home? Carpet, anything different?
Go see an allergist before it gets worse.

You have to avoid the allergens to prevent the attacks. Therapy lies in identifying the allergens and avoiding them and anti histamines. An allergy specialist can help identify the allergens and desensitize. Antihistamines block the histamine receptors and prevent histamine from acting and thus help in preventing rashes. If the present anti histamines are not very effective you can consult your doctor for long acting ones.

Local measures like ice packs and antipruritic lotions are helpful.
